| EXHIBITION POLICIES
LIABILITY: Upon approval of this contract by an authorized Exhibitor representative,
it is expressly understood that the Exhibitor has read and agreed to abide by
the NAHE liability policies outlined below. The National Association for Humanities
Education, hereinafter referred to as NAHE, and all organization and individuals
who are associated with it, in connection with this Exhibition, will not assume
responsibility and shall be held harmless by all exhibitors for damage or loss
resulting form fire, theft, or any other cause whatsoever, including accident
or injury to exhibitor, their employees and agents, the public, or others. The
exhibitor agrees to pay promptly for any and all damages to the exhibition building
or its equipment incurred through carelessness, or otherwise, of exhibitor or
his employees or agents.
LOCATION: NAHE reserves the right to determine final placement of the exhibitor. TRANSPORTATION/SETUP: All transportation costs, and any other costs related to exhibit setup are to be paid by the Exhibitor. All materials must be sent to the following address so that they arrive between February 27 and February 28, 2007. Holiday Inn Golden Gateway, 1500 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94109 415.441.4000, 415.441.8346 fax If the publisher will not be sending a book representative to set up the exhibit then NAHE will set up the exhibit for a service charge of $100.00. NAHE will also take down the exhibit, pack the boxes and send them back to the publisher if the publisher encloses shipping labels and shipping costs. There will be an additional $100.00 service charge for this service. ** SHIPMENTS DIRECT TO SHOW SITE: Notify the Holiday Inn Golden Gateway at least one week in advance of shipment of packages. All packages sent to Hotel must include the name of Group, date of program and number of items. Shipments should arrive no earlier than three (3) days prior to event. Hotel has no liability for the delivery, security or condition of the packages. Shipments received before that date may be subject to a $5.00 per day/per package storage charge. Upon receipt of packages, Hotel will store them in a secure room. Arrangements must be made by the exhibitor with the carrier of their choice to remove all empty crates, cases or containers from the hotel during the exhibition. Should this not occur additional handling charges would apply. A minimum charge of $5.00 will be assessed for receipt and storage of incoming and outgoing shipments. The $5.00 fee includes delivery to your meeting room. Extra charges will apply for shipping. Hotel will not accept shipments for an exhibit without prior approval from the Hotel. Holiday Inn Golden Gateway, 1500 Van Ness Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94109 415.441.4000, 415.441.8346 fax LOSSES: NAHE will not take responsibility for damage to exhibitor's property or lost shipments either coming in or going out, nor for moving costs. Damage to inadequately packed property is exhibitor's own responsibility. If exhibit fails to arrive, exhibitor is nevertheless responsible for the exhibit space reserved as per this contract. NAHE cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to any exhibitor's property. Exhibitors are advised to insure against these risks. CANCELLATION/SPACE REDUCTION: Any cancellation, space reduction requests, or requests for changes of this contract must be made in writing and forwarded to: NAHE P.O. Box 777 Pacifica, CA 94044. Cancellation or space reductions will be subject to charges according to the following schedule: Before January 8, 2007: Eligible for full refund. After February 1, 2007: 50% of booth fee is forfeited. After February 21, 2007: No refund. In the event of cancellation or reduction of contracted space, and subject to the above cancellation charges schedule, NAHE shall retain the right to resell canceled space without rebate or allowance to the exhibitor. TERMINATION OF EXHIBITION: In the event that the premises in which the Exhibition is or is to be conducted shall become, in the sole discretion of NAHE, unfit for occupancy, or in the event the holding of the Exhibition or the performance of NAHE under the Exhibit Reservation Contract (of which these Rules and Regulations are a part) are substantially or materially interfered with by virtue of any cause or causes not reasonably within the control of NAHE, said Contract and/or the Exhibition (or any part thereof) may be terminated by NAHE. NAHE shall not be responsible for delays, damage, loss, increased costs, or other unfavorable conditions arising by virtue of cause or causes not reasonably within the control of NAHE. If NAHE terminates said Contract and/or the Exhibition (or any part thereof) as aforesaid, then NAHE shall not be liable to the exhibitor other than for a prorated refund of such exhibitor's space price payment determined on the basis of the number of exhibit days remaining. For purposes hereof, the phrase "cause or causes not reasonably within the control of NAHE" shall include, but not by way of limitation: fire, casualty, flood, epidemic, earthquake or inclement weather; explosion or accident; blockade or embargo; governmental restraints; restraints or orders of civil defense or military authorities; act of public enemy, riot, or civil disturbance; strike, lockout, boycott, or other labor disturbance; inability to secure sufficient labor, technical, or other personnel; failure, impairment, or lack of adequate transportation facilities; inability to obtain, or condemnation, requisition, or commandeering of necessary supplies or equipment; local, state, or Federal law, ordinances, rule, order decree, or regulation, whether legislative, executive, or judicial, and whether constitutional or unconstitutional; or Acts of God. ARBITRATION: Any controversy of claim arising out of or relating to this contract or the breech thereof, shall be settled by arbitration in San Francisco, California, USA, and in accordance with the U.S. Arbitration Rules of the United States Arbitration Association, and judgment upon the award rendered by the Arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof. Exhibit Tables include a skirted table, two chairs and trash receptacle. INSTALLATION AND DISMANTLING: Installation will take place on Wednesday, February 28, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. All Exhibits must be in place by 8:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 1. Dismantling must be completed by 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 3. SHOW HOURS:(subject to change) Wednesday 2/28 2:00 - 6:00 Exhibitor Set-Up; Thursday 3/1 8:00 - 6:00 Exhibit Open; Friday 3/2 8:00 - 6:00 Exhibit Open; Saturday 3/3 8:00 - 12:30 Exhibit Open; Saturday 3/3 12:30-4:00 Exhibitor Dismantle ELECTRICITY: Electrical accommodations will be provided through the hotel. The exhibitor is responsible for contracting the hotel for power; please do not neglect this item. It you need NEMA, or other plugs, you must make your own arrangements. Electrical requirements should be submitted to the hotel one month prior to installation. **NAHE encourages all publishers to permit the raffle of exhibit copies for the benefit of graduate student members. (No service charge for repacking would be applied in this instance.) |
